FOR THOSE

WHO MOVE

DIFFERENT

FOR was born in the back of a valley to protect and to last. We create garments from reclaimed fabrics to give you your favorite pieces in your wardrobe.

FOR stands for timeless strength and cultural intelligence. We honor our fishing roots and ocean-born bloodlines while shaping the future with a relentless hand.

Sustainability is not a feature we lightly claim here. It is the current we move within. FOR is not for everyone. It is for those who recognize the ocean in their bones. Those who move first.

Thank you for moving with us. For standing for reclamation over excess. For choosing depth over noise. May each piece you wear remind you that survival is its own kind of beauty.

FOR DEPTH. FOR MOVEMENT. FOR TIDE AND TIME.

AT THE HELM

  • Owner

Trained by the hands of those who survived by fish and fabric.

I always want to be clear: I am not Hawaiian.
I’m a sixth-generation Uchinanchu woman. A product of plantation workers who made their lives in Hawai‘i and whose descendants never left. Hawai‘i raised me and gave me every piece of who I am.

My dad taught me to spearfish when I was young. The ocean was our family pantry, our bonding time, & our education. But when I started diving on my own, something was different. All the reefs my family fished for generations were dead. The places my dad taught me to respect and rely on were empty.

To bring home food, I had to go deeper. More current. More risk. That was my wake-up call. The moment I understood how urgently Hawai‘i needed me to step up.

FOR was born from that moment of grief and responsibility.

It is my commitment to Hawai‘i, my stance for the lāhui, and my belief in sovereignty and self-determination. But mostly, it’s me taking what the ocean taught and turning it into a business that does less harm:

    • Waste nothing.

    • Use what you have.

    • Respect your resources.

    • Protect what feeds you.

FOR is my love letter to Hawai‘i — the way I honor the place that raised me and contribute to keeping her the same for the next generation.

WHERE YOUR CLOTHES ARE ACTUALLY MADE

  • O'AHU

Our Pauoa studio is where your custom garments are sourced from deadstock and created entirely from initial sketch to pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, and final finishing.

Each piece is approached as both design and craft; produced in deliberately small quantities.

Our studio space allows me complete control over quality, fit, and fabric use ensuring that nothing is wasted and every detail reflects the standard I hold for the brand.

  • LA

Made in Los Angeles, in an ethical accredited facility.

Our LA partners are small, tight-knit factories with clean, safe working conditions and wages that respect the people behind the clothes. They specialize in technical construction and small-run production. We visit regularly, know the team personally (literal family friends) , and choose transparency over secrecy every step of the way.

SMALL-BATCH. ETHICAL. TRACEABLE. ALWAYS.
