ABOUT FOR

FOR began as a direct response to ocean degradation with a belief that participating in fashion shouldn't require looking away from its consequences.

We went into “responsible fashion” and realized it had developed its own set of compromises: better materials often came with less interesting clothes, practicality came at the expense of beauty, natural fibers were treated as a limitation, and sustainability became an aesthetic in itself. We weren't interested in any of that.

So FOR evolved around a different question:

WHY CHOOSE?

STRUCTURE / COMFORT

We wanted the architecture of corsetry without accepting discomfort as part of the deal.

NATURAL / TECHNICAL

We don't believe performance belongs exclusively to synthetics. We choose materials for what they do as carefully as we choose them for what they're made from.

PRACTICAL / BEAUTIFUL

Sometimes the best functional details are the ones you never have to see.

COMES FIRST

We don't begin with a target margin and work backward. We begin by asking what the garment should be.

How should it fit? How should it move? What should it feel like against the body? What material gives it the right behavior? What construction makes it better? What details would we miss if they weren't there?

We obsess over those decisions so you don't have to.

You should only have to put it on and understand why.
